Tutshill Primary School

Our PTA is active in not only the school, but also the local community. Thousands of pounds have been raised by the PTA over the years, for which we are very grateful.

Activities include regular events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas and Summer Fayres.

The PTA was formed in 1982 and supports the school in many ways; it is predominantly a fundraising group and has given computers, a CD player, a film projector, carpets and much more for use by the children. Money has been raised to subsidise special events and refreshments are also provided by the PTA after concerts and church services.

There are annual events which have become a traditional part of the school year - Christmas and Summer Fayres, summer sports tournament and quiz nights. Volunteers from the PTA have built an adventure playground which the children thoroughly enjoy. All members have the interest of the school at heart and while a great deal of fun is had by all, the interest of the school is always a priority.

What the pta is funding in 2010

The pta is part or fully funding the following items:

class gardening projects;
The Rhema Theatre groups 'Easter Tales' performance on Monday 19th April 2010;
The Lego workshop for Science and Technology week;
Year 06 leaving gift of yearbooks for each child;
Christmas Theatre trip;
conversion of the 'The Beehive' into a music room.

Make money for the school each time you shop online……

If you’re thinking of buying anything online, why not earn money for the school at the same time? All you have to do is go to www.buy.at/TutshillCofESchool and find the name of the retailer. You will then be re-directed to the retailer’s web site, and can browse and shop in the normal way. If you make a purchase, Tutshill School PTA will receive a donation on each transaction.

You don’t pay a penny more – and there are no catches. It’s very easy to do and an excellent way of making money for the PTA. A full list of the retailers who participate is on the site. The contributions/donations paid back to the school PTA are also listed (all are slightly different).

Examples are: John Lewis (2%), M&S (3% - excludes food); ELC (4%), HMV (6%).

Band night - Saturday 12th June 2010

An event for parents with live music and a bar. The event is being held to raise money for the conversion of the 'The Beehive' into a music room.

The band perfoming are 'Crash & Berney'.

Start time 19:30.

Tickets £6.00 each.

Family photo day - Saturday 12th June 2010

Seven Star Photography will be doing family potrait studio sittings at school.

Only £10 and you will receive a free 6” x 4” photo of your choice or have £10 deducted from the cost of whatever you buy.

Demand for sessions has been high, but there are a few spaces still available.

The PTA will receive commission on all sales. Thanks to those who have already booked.
