Church and Community Links

We have very close links with St Luke’s Church which serves the parish of Tidenham and the church community. Children visit the church for weekly services, celebrations and as part of their on-going learning in Religious Education. Reverend Vicar David also leads a Christmas and Easter service for the school and the community in the church.

During Easter, Christmas and Remembrance Day, Worship Club will deliver and plan, alongside the Collective Worship coordinator and ministry team, a service that the whole school community is invited to. The children will also plan in opportunities for children, in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, to be included within the service through singing, performance or story-telling.

As a Church of England Primary School, Tutshill has enjoyed a close relationship with the local Church of England Parish over many years.  That relationship continues to develop and thrive.  Here is some news…

  • Emma Durbin

The good news is that the Parish have appointed Emma Durbin as the new Children, Youth and Families Missioner. Emma starts in September and comes to the role with lots of experiences, most recently working in Aylburton School. Emma lives in the Parish, is a member of the local church and has seen 4 children go through Tutshill School! Part of her role will be working in partnership with Tutshill school.

Wellbeing Chaplain

Emma’s role will have wellbeing as a particular focus, but the Parish are also hoping to appoint a part-time community Wellbeing Chaplain to address the vital needs around wellbeing in the community, which we are all aware of. A leaflet with further details of the project is available from the churches or downloadable from the Parish website, You may like to support this project financially, either by a one-off contribution or by a regular commitment.

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise money to employ the part time Wellbeing Chaplain. Find out more and donate at
