PE and Sport Premium
The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of PE, sport and physical activity for all pupils.
At Tutshill Church of England Primary School, we use this funding to provide sustainable improvements to PE, physical activity and school sport, helping all children develop healthy, active lifestyles and a lifelong enjoyment of being physically active.
How we use the funding
We use the PE and Sport Premium to:
- Develop staff knowledge, skills and confidence through high-quality training and support.
- Increase opportunities for physical activity throughout the school day.
- Provide a wider range of sports and extracurricular clubs.
- Promote active and inclusive play at break and lunchtimes.
- Develop pupil leadership through playground buddies and activity leaders.
- Increase participation in competitions and sporting events.
- Ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, can access and enjoy PE and sport.
Our Vision
We believe that PE is about much more than sport. Through high-quality PE and physical activity, children develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership and respect, while learning the importance of leading healthy, active lives.
Our aim is to create a culture in which every child is encouraged to participate, achieve and thrive through physical activity, regardless of their background, ability or starting point.
Impact
We carefully monitor the impact of our PE and Sport Premium spending to ensure it improves the quality of teaching, increases participation in physical activity and sport, and provides sustainable benefits for current and future pupils.
